Abu Dhabi Motors ignite MINI passion in the capital with ‘Yalla MINI’.

MINI Clubman and MINI Convertible made their first appearance in the capital.

Abu Dhabi, UAE–Yas Marina Circuit, was transformed into the home of MINI this weekend, with the Abu Dhabi launch of the ‘Yalla MINI’ roadshow.  Attended by customers and media, the Yalla MINI roadshow saw XX attendees at the state-of-the-art racing circuit to see the launch two of the latest models from the iconic British brand: the all-new MINI Clubman and the MINI Convertible.

Hosted by Abu Dhabi Motors, the importer of MINI models in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the event saw the high performance MINI John Cooper Works Hatch, MINI 5 Door Hatch, MINI 3 Door Hatch and MINI Countryman take to the dynamic racing track – navigating a course that regularly challenges the who’s who of the motorsport world. Along with professional MINI test drivers, MINI lovers and media also had the opportunity to be the very first in the UAE to take to the wheel of the MINI Clubman and MINI Convertible, putting them to the test across 5.5 kilometers and 21 challenging turns.

Arno Husselmann, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Motors, said: “The launch of the MINI Clubman and MINI Convertible highlight both the evolution of the MINI brand as well as its strong and iconic British heritage.  Yalla MINI allows some of our most loyal customers to fully explore the driving thrill and performance excellence of these new models in a fun yet truly thrilling environment.”

Driven for the first time in the UAE at the drive event, the MINI Clubman made its Middle East debut at the Dubai International Motor Show. The MINI Clubman comes with a wide selection of innovative driver assistance systems and an extensive range of options for exterior and interior individualization. A stretched silhouette and accentuated width reveal the MINI Clubman‘s new, bold dimensions, which have increased by just over 32cm in length and around 12cm in width.

The interior of the new MINI Clubman has also expanded along with the exterior. The cabin’s new dimensions are made palpable through a generous sweep, clear surfaces and a more “grown-up” sense of space. The defining element of the MINI Clubman interior is its broad instrument panel, which adopts the generous surface areas of the exterior and brings them inside the car.

Also making its debut on the track, the MINI Convertible has a unmistakable exterior design; a precise balance between top-class elegance and sporty flair; characteristic proportions with powerfully sculpted surfaces with a dynamically elongated silhouette; up-to-date interpretation of classic MINI design features: circular headlamps and rear lights with chrome surrounds, hexagonal radiator grille, black peripheral body surround, side turn indicator elements; large selection of body finishes including the variant Caribbean Aqua metallic presented here for the first time.

The interior of the new model has taken the hallmark characteristics of MINI with a

horizontally structured cockpit, circular or elliptical contours for displays, air vents and door trim elements as well as high-quality colour and material combinations; display and operating concept including instrument panel on the steering column, central instrument with new functions, optional LED lighting display and red start/stop button.

The new model will come in two engine variants with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology; 3-cylinder petrol engine with 100 kW/136 hp in the MINI Cooper Convertible, 4-cylinder petrol engine with 141 kW/192 hp in the MINI Cooper S Convertible. Coming in a 6-speed Steptronic transmission. The 6-speed Steptronic sports transmission with shift paddles at the steering wheel also available for MINI Cooper S Convertible.
